noun: eclecticism
1. 1.
the practice of deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.
As a conceptual approach Eclecticism does not hold to a single paradigm and allows the expression of the individual, in this case myself, to take centre stage. The inspiration behind the Eclecticism collection is born from many sources: art, photography, architecture and music. From the structure and forms that Zaha Hadid is renown, to the contrast and bold use of colour that Christian Hiadzi uses, Eclecticism is the culmination and expression of the multi faceted and diverse skills of modern hairdressing.
This collection has allowed me to explore what it means to dress hair, unrestrained by a common theme or medium but still creating an eclectic yet cohesive set of 6 thought provoking images.
